My Fear Not Project

Fear has been part of the human condition since the first sin (Genesis 3:10). And Luke 21:25-26 tells us that fear is only going to get more prevalent as time goes on.

Yet the Lord tells us not to fear. Some say that Scripture tells us not to fear 366 times – one for each day of the year! (Although that number is debated.)

But what I want to know – more than the number – is:

How?

I want to fear not, but it’s easier said than done, right? Fear seems like one of those uncontrollable emotions.

So many questions run through my mind. If I fear public speaking, or riding a roller coaster, or bugs, or heights, or pain, or rejection, or doing anything God asks of me, or sharing my faith (Lord, help me), can that emotion be turned off?

Is that what God is asking me to do?

Hence, my current project.

My Fear Verses Project

My inner-research-nerd is going to look up all the verses on fear/anxiety in God’s Word and see what He has to say.

I am also going to write them all down. There’s just something about writing verses down that writes them on my heart – way better than googling. If it does turn out to be 365, it may take me a while!
