It’s so nice of you to stop by! Especially since nice people are just what I need! You see, the experts tell me that you will probably expect big things from this About page. They tell me your first impression of this “About Alyson” page needs to be epic or you will never come back.
Well. No pressure there.
But – I don’t believe that will happen! Nope. Not in our case.
I’ll tell you what I do believe though …
I believe our paths are not crossing by coincidence. In fact, I have been praying for you for a while now!
I believe we will be good for each other! We need each other. We will spur each other on to surround our hearts and homes with God’s Word.
But mostly our hearts.
That’s what matters.
I believe the more we dig in God’s Word, the more we will crave it.
Skeptical? I hear you. In fact, I used to be you.
But it can happen. It did happen to me. Not overnight, of course. But, in hindsight, I can now pinpoint some things that led to a still-growing enthusiasm for God’s Word.
And most importantly …
(ironically after all those “I believes”)
I believe that what I think is not what’s important here (which is also why my Verse Journals have no commentary from me).
The most important thing is what our Lord thinks.
And He graciously spells that out for us in His Word. So let’s not take that for granted.
Let’s build a daily Bible habit – yep, every day – to find out what God thinks!
Don’t worry, we’ll do it together.

I’m a long-time Jesus-follower, a wife, a mom, a Nonna (grandmother), and intermittent Bible study group-leader at my local Baptist church. My all-time favorite thing to do is Bible study – really! And I’m guessing that you already figured out that I enjoy hand-lettering and calligraphy. My husband and sons have turned me into a pretty avid baseball and football fan. I’m crazy about reading and coffee – usually together. And I don’t believe in coincidence or luck. But the most random fact of all: I have broken my nose 3 times – one baseball, one softball, and one pogo stick. Are we having fun yet?

One last thing those pesky experts tell me is to find a way to make my site stand out in the crowd. But my desire is to make my Savior, Jesus Christ, stand out – not me.
